Westwood Recreation Department
The community of Westwood pulls resources together to offer fun and educational activities for adults, teens, and young children of all ages. From walking clubs, art lessons, yoga and holiday sewing classes for adults to cartooning, ice skating lessons, kids crafts and karate for kids, there's something for everyone. New programs are announced every quarter and aquatics are offered all year round. Watch for your Recreation Directory mailed to your home each quarter or call the Rec. Dept for information.
Specific to young families, the Recreation Department offers social hours for parents and babies, playgroups for babies and toddlers and preschool programs. Programs for 3-5 year olds are drop off and require children to be toilet trained. Regular weekly programs are offered in addition to special holiday and vacation week activities.
The Recreation Department also offers several family events through the year including a fishing derby at Buckmaster Pond, Fireman’s Foam party in July and sponsors the NewYear’s Eve fireworks.
