SEPAC General Meeting Minutes
April 08, 2008

Audrey Seyffert, Director of Student Services, gave a brief report on the commendations and recommendations made by the Dept. of Education Comprehensive Professional Review Team. The final report will be made public once it is received by the district.

Audrey introduced her Leadership Team, including Martha Bakken (preschool and elementary), Judy Caporiccio (Middle school), Denise Collins (Middle School), and Robert Fanning (High School), who together described the current continuum of services and anticipated changes, given the population of student for the coming year. A question and answer period followed the informative presentation.

SEPAC Election of Executive Board Officers for the upcoming school year was held by paper ballot. 22 votes were cast for each office and all decisions were unanimous.

Summer Social Skills Groups:
SEPAC is applying for $16,000 in grant money to help fund the summer social skills groups for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders or other related disabilities. Already been granted $5000 by the Westwood Young Women’s Club (WYWC). Social skills surveys are available if you have not yet turned one in. (All families should complete one for the purpose of planning for future specialized groups.)

A Resource List is being circulated and added to by members for the sharing names of community resources and professionals available in the local area. List to be posted on the SEPAC Website with periodic updates.

Announced "Morning Coffee with Claudia Luiz, Ed.M., M.A." May 2, 2008 9-10:30 AM at the Islington Community Center, at "The Basement".

Next SEPAC General Meeting: May 13, 2008 -
With speaker from SNCARC to discuss programs and activities available locally.
