Provide consistent and informative communication to the SEPAC membership and community affiliates for the benefit of all students on IEP and 504 plans.

Actively collaborate and participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of Westwood’s special education programs and policies, in accordance with DOE legislative mandate.

Provide organized social opportunities for SEPAC membership that allow families, staff, students, and community members to network, support, and advocate effectively, and promote community outreach and integration.

Maintain growing SEPAC membership and increase electronic access to all individuals who wish to participate in SEPAC.
Legal Requirement (DOE Mandate)
The Parent Advisory Council duties shall include but not be limited to: advising the school committee on matters that pertain to the education and safety of students with disabilities; meet regularly with school officials to participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the school committee’s special education programs. M.G.L. c. 71B(3).
