Let’s Get Organized! - A Special Education Workshop for Parents

  • Westwood Administration PD Office 220 Nahatan St, Administration Building, Professional Development Room Westwood, MA 02090 USA (map)

WELCOME PARENTS and FAMILIES to an interactive parent workshop co-hosted by the Office of Student Services and SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Council)

The goal of this workshop will be to help parents organize their student’s special education files and documents in preparation for your meetings this year!

While all families are welcome to sign up, we have space for 24 participants and will give priority to parents with children in preschool through grade 5. Things to know!

You must RSVP as space is limited! RSVP to Smaselli@westwood.k12.ma.us. We will keep registration open until all 24 slots are filled.

You will need to bring with you ALL your child’s special education paperwork you have collected over time and we will help you organize it. Note that this might mean you have to print what is in the Frontline Collaboration Portal before you attend.

We will provide you with all the supplies you need to get started on an organization system to support your student in his/her/their special education journey!

This organization system will help you prepare and be ready for your child’s next IEP meeting.

We will be offering limited CHILDCARE coverage for this workshop. Please note that space is limited so if you are interested, please let us know the names, ages and any special considerations or accommodations your child/ren would benefit from during this workshop so the providers can prepare for your student’s arrival. Volunteer high school students are providing the help and care of students during this event, so we ask families to consider this when joining in.
